Job Profile Summary
The Maintenance Worker II - Grounds is a position in the Facilities Management department. The position's work is focused on groundskeeping and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus. The Maintenance Worker II - Grounds may also have opportunities to learn general building maintenance skills in a healthcare setting.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-330pm with on-call rotating shifts every 3rd week starting October - May for snow removal

Responsible for maintaining the appearance, condition, and safety of facility grounds, landscaping, parking areas, irrigation systems, and related equipment to meet seasonal needs.
Assignments may include planting, fertilizing, clipping, pruning, mowing, blowing, weeding, shoveling snow, plowing, irrigation monitoring, and applying chemical control products.
Demonstrates knowledge in landscape maintenance, including irrigation systems, and the use of insecticides and herbicides on turf, trees, and flowerbeds.

Some experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance.
Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above
Willingness to work hard and to learn.
A valid drivers license may be required for this position.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$24.10 - $36.68
