JOB SUMMARY:
The Jazz Bantam Social Media Associate is a part-time role responsible for managing and growing the social media account for the new Jazz Bantam program. Working in collaboration with the Jazz Youth team and the Utah Jazz social media team, this position brings experience and initiative to content planning, scheduling, and day-to-day channel management. This role requires someone who can independently coordinate with content creators and freelancers, manage a content calendar, and ensure timely, on-brand coverage of games, tournaments, and youth programming - all while contributing original copy and creative direction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and maintain social media channels for the Utah Jazz Bantam program, with a primary focus on Instagram
  • Coordinate and manage content schedules with content creators, freelancers, and the Jazz Youth team to ensure consistent and timely coverage
  • Develop and manage a content calendar, prioritizing key games, tournaments, and program milestones
  • Plan and develop content concepts that authentically represent the Bantam program and resonate with a youth basketball audience
  • Write compelling, on-brand copy for posts, captions, and stories across platforms
  • Edit video content using Adobe Premiere Pro to support quick-turnaround game highlights, recaps, and program storytelling
  • Monitor and engage with comments, messages, and community interactions
  • Collaborate with the design team and freelancers on creative assets including graphics and short-form video
  • Identify and act on platform trends to keep content fresh and relevant
  • Leverage knowledge of the game of basketball and the youth basketball landscape to inform content strategy and storytelling
  • Work nights and weekends as required to support live game and tournament coverage

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-4 years of experience in social media management, content coordination, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with content creators, freelancers, or external partners
  • Strong copywriting skills with great attention to detail and brand voice
  • Proficient across major social media platforms, with deep knowledge of Instagram
  • Keen eye for trends and the ability to quickly adapt content strategy
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro - required
  • Strong video editing skills
  • Strong content planning skills with the ability to develop concepts, write copy, and execute basic edits independently
  • Ability to shoot photo and video is a plus
  • Solid understanding of the game of basketball and the youth basketball landscape, including club programs, tournaments, terminology and the culture around the sport
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Self-Starter - Proactively takes initiative, identifies opportunities for improvement and independently drives projects to completion

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
