Job description

Job Summary:
Tredence Inc. is seeking a Principal Data Architect with deep expertise in Lakehouse architecture and cloud data platforms. This role will drive the design and implementation of scalable data solutions using Databricks, while also acting as a technical leader across various data initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Define and implement enterprise data architecture using Databricks Lakehouse
• Design scalable data pipelines using Spark / PySpark
• Architect end-to-end data platforms (batch + streaming)
• Lead Databricks platform setup, optimization, and governance
• Drive adoption of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business problems into data solutions
• Mentor engineering teams and enforce architecture standards
• Optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Define data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years in Data Engineering / Data Architecture
• Strong expertise in Databricks (must-have, deep experience)
• PySpark / Spark (advanced)
• SQL (advanced)
• Hands-on experience with Lakehouse architecture (Delta Lake)
• Experience in at least one cloud: GCP / AWS / Azure
• Strong experience with Data modeling
• Distributed systems
• Large-scale data processing
Preferred:
• Unity Catalog / Data governance frameworks
• Streaming (Kafka / Structured Streaming)
• CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Databricks certifications
