Job description

Targa Resources is seeking a highly strategic and results-oriented finance leader to serve as Senior Vice President / Vice President, Treasurer. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company's financial strategy, with end-to-end responsibility for treasury, liquidity, and capital management and significant influence on corporate financial planning and analysis.
The Treasurer will be a key partner to the CFO and executive leadership team, driving disciplined capital allocation, optimizing the balance sheet, and ensuring sustained financial flexibility to support Targa's growth objectives. This role requires a forward-looking leader who can integrate market insights, risk management, and capital markets expertise to position the company for long-term value creation.
Core responsibilities include leading treasury strategy and operations, overseeing liquidity and working capital management, managing capital structure, and executing comprehensive financial risk management programs. The successful candidate will combine strategic vision with operational excellence and bring a strong track record of influencing outcomes at the enterprise level.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and execute capital structure and financing strategy
  • Manage bank relationships, credit facilities, and capital markets access
  • Partner with the CFO and other members of the executive leadership team on capital allocation strategy, evaluating growth investments, shareholder returns, and balance sheet priorities
  • Analyze pro forma implications of potential transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and capital investments with a focus on optimal financing and value creation
  • Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, and forecasting
  • Proactively manage payments, collections and other treasury operations including counterparty risk oversight
  • Own covenant strategy and compliance, proactively managing leverage metrics, financial covenants, and related disclosures while preserving strategic flexibility
  • Oversee financial risk management (interest rates) and partner with business units to manage commodity risk
  • Establish and maintain treasury policies, controls, and compliance
  • Lead and develop a high-performing treasury organization
  • Partner across finance, tax, and legal functions
  • Support investor relations strategy, including development of external messaging, investor materials, and participation in select investor engagements
  • Lead engagement with rating agencies, shaping the company's credit narrative and ensuring clear, consistent communication of financial strategy and performance
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of board materials
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS degree in Finance or related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership within energy infrastructure, investment banking, corporate banking, energy private equity, or corporate finance / corporate development roles at a company. Midstream experience is beneficial, but not required
  • Strong background in valuation, financial modeling, and capital structuring
  • Strong executive function / discipline. Forward thinking anticipating next steps
  • Capital markets transaction experience (investment grade debt, bank debt, high yield debt, and/or equity and equity linked securities)
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Leadership experience and team management abilities
