This position is located onsite at our client location in Pittsburgh, PA
The Treasure Data Developer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, integrations, and workflows within the Treasure Data Customer Data Platform (CDP). This role blends hands on engineering with data modeling, automation, and cross functional collaboration to ensure that high quality, actionable data flows seamlessly across the organization. The ideal candidate is equal parts problem solver, architect, and data craftsman-comfortable working with large datasets, complex transformations, and business stakeholders who rely on timely, accurate insights.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Development & Management
• Build, maintain, and optimize end to end data pipelines using Treasure Data's toolset (Workflows, Data Connectors, TD SQL, Python, and Shell).
• Develop scalable ingestion processes from APIs, cloud storage, SaaS tools, and internal systems.
• Implement data transformation logic using Treasure Data's query engine (Presto/Hive) and workflow orchestration.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, and implement proactive improvements.
Data Modeling & Architecture
• Design and maintain data schemas, master data models, and unified customer profiles.
• Implement identity resolution, segmentation logic, and data unification strategies.
• Ensure data structures support analytics, personalization, and downstream activation use cases.
Platform Configuration & Optimization
• Configure and manage Treasure Data components such as:
o Workflows (DAGs)
o Data Connectors (ingestion and export)
o Master Segments and Audience Studio
o Custom scripts and user-defined functions
• Optimize query performance and storage usage to control cost and improve efficiency.
Cross Functional Collaboration
• Partner with marketing, analytics, engineering, and product teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Support marketing activation by building and maintaining export integrations to ad platforms, CRM systems, and personalization engines.
• Document processes, data flows, and best practices for internal teams.
Governance, Quality, and Security
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring dashboards.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and internal governance policies.
• Maintain secure access controls and follow enterprise security standards.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 3-5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or CDP development.
• Hands on experience with Treasure Data (or similar CDPs such as Segment, Tealium, or Adobe Experience Platform).
• Strong SQL skills (Presto, Hive, or equivalent).
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Treasure Data Workflows, Airflow, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python or Ruby for scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and cloud storage systems (S3, GCS, Azure Blob).
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, and distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with marketing technology platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Adobe Campaign, Google Ads, Meta Ads).
• Knowledge of customer identity resolution and audience segmentation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows.
• Background in high-volume data environments (billions of events per month).
• Certifications in Treasure Data or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
