Job description

Vascular Surgeon Opportunity

Establish and lead a community-based vascular surgery program at Blanchard Valley Health System in partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Provide advanced vascular surgical care, including Abdominal and thoracic aneurysmal disease, Carotid artery disease, Hemodialysis access, Peripheral vascular disease and limb salvage. Perform both open and endovascular procedures. Manage vascular conditions with medical therapy, lifestyle modification, and non-surgical interventions. Maintain a weekly schedule of:

  • 2 clinic days
  • 3 procedural/surgical days
  • Take 10 night/weekend call shifts per month (does not include daytime coverage).
  • Share call responsibilities with A PRN vascular surgeon, A vascular surgery APP, and An OSU vascular surgeon (phone support only)
  • Supervise advanced practice provider(s) involved in vascular care delivery.
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment with cardiology, interventional radiology, and other specialties.
  • Participate in the development and future expansion of the program, including, Recruitment of an additional vascular surgeon and APP by end of 2027 and Transition to a hybrid operating room (construction planned to complete by 2027)
  • Deliver patient-centered care in a high-quality, community-focused setting.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment options, wellness, and disease prevention.
  • Maintain responsive and open communication with referring physicians.
  • Participate in institutional service activities at the department, college, and medical center levels.
  • Serve as a preceptor and provide training to Medical students, Residents, Fellows, Nursing staff, and Allied health professionals
  • Opportunity for program leadership based on experience and interest.
  • Receive a clinical faculty appointment (Assistant or Associate Professor) with The Ohio State University; role is 100% clinical and based in Findlay, Ohio (non-academic site).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary starting at $500,000 for 0โ€“3 years of experience
  • Base salary of $550,000 for 4โ€“6 years of experience
  • Base salary of $600,000 for 7 or more years of experience
  • Group goals focused on quality, operations and productivity and determined by Division Director
  • Potential to earn annual bonus up to $75K based on scorecard metrics to be established by the Division director at OSUWMC
  • One-time signing bonus of $50,000
  • Relocation stipend up to $15,000
  • 176 hours of vacation time per year with a 240-hour carryover limit
  • 120 hours of sick time accrued annually
