What does a tray line worker do?

A typical shift on the Tray Line involves assembling meal trays according to standardized menus and specific dietary requirements, often working as part of a larger team in a hospital or institutional kitchen. You may rotate between tasks such as portioning food, ensuring quality control, and stocking supplies. The work is usually fast-paced, especially during peak meal times, requiring efficiency and attention to detail. Team members frequently interact with kitchen staff, dietitians, and sometimes delivery personnel to ensure timely and accurate meal distribution. This role provides valuable exposure to the broader food service and healthcare industries, offering opportunities for advancement into supervisory or specialized dietary positions.
