Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active NC or Compact RN license.

Details
  • Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a teaching hospital setting
  • Care for pediatric cardiac and cardiovascular patients including congenital heart disease repairs, post cardiac surgery, and ECMO cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required
Requirements
  • Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with central line care, arterial line management, and IV therapy
  • Experience with CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias preferred
  • Knowledge of pediatric dosage calculations and use of Broselow system
  • 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
  • Full SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31–March 31)
Additional Information
  • Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in a Level I trauma teaching hospital environment
  • Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
  • Candidates with prior permanent employment at the health system must disclose this, and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
  • RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
