Salary:

Job Title: Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent - Dam Division


This will be based in North Carolina but require travel throughout the Southeast region.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as needed.
  • Exceptional work ethic, setting a standard for hard work on-site.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience supervising multiple foremen, construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Familiarity with water diversion, cofferdam construction, and dewatering processes.
  • Knowledge of excavation, earth fill, and moisture conditioning.
  • Preferred experience in concrete and geotechnical construction.
  • Understanding of various soil classifications.
  • Strong communication skills, with a collaborative approach to ensuring task comprehension among team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Safety-focused, with preferred 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certifications.
  • Physically capable of navigating job sites, including steep or rugged terrain.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction safety protocols.
  • Ensure environmental and quality compliance on all projects.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to provide data for cost tracking and efficiency analysis.
  • Review and interpret contract documents, including specifications, drawings, and designs.
  • Work with estimating teams to build estimates prior and during construction.
  • Schedule and manage construction activities, including crews, equipment, and subcontractors to provide the most efficiency.
  • Review timesheets and phase codes.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, taking necessary actions to keep projects on track with established milestones.
  • Maintain discipline in field operations while managing schedules and budgets effectively.
