A traveling hair stylist commutes to meet clients or customers at their location. In this position, you may travel locally, to different cities, or even around the world. You bring your shampoo and other hair and beauty products on the road with you to cut, color, and style wherever you have access to water. This job may offer the opportunity to work in a variety of niches, such as providing hairdressing services to older adults at assisted living facilities, traveling with film and television crews, or opening up a mobile salon and performing cuts and other services in different locations. You can even work as a trainer for a global brand. In addition to cutting hair, you may also take on the duties of a business owner, keeping accounting records and ensuring your licensing and permits are current.
