Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license, Epic experience, and the ability to manage a 1:5–1:7 patient ratio.

Details
  • Work in a 39-bed combined Acute Stroke/Med-Surg Telemetry unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY
  • Patient population includes acute stroke, neurological disorders, and general acute medical patients
  • Unit practices an adjustable acuity care delivery model with a focus on evidence-based stroke care
  • Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 required
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Skills required: peripheral IV line care/management, phlebotomy, respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, non-invasive airway management), and isolation precautions
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
Additional Information
  • Unit emphasizes primary prevention and acute phase stroke care using an evidence-based, adjustable acuity model
  • Expected to utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
  • Scrub color: any combination of navy and white
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
