Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a California hospital, requiring perioperative experience and on-call availability for a day shift contract.

Details
  • Day shift schedule: 06:30–15:00
  • Surgical and Recovery Services unit within a hospital setting
  • Perioperative patient population spanning neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults
  • On-call availability is required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Current PALS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP) — can be completed via Relias, Healthcare Staffing Hire, or the free CDC NIOSH resource
  • Minimum 1 year of perioperative (OR) experience
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Pre/Post Op experience preferred
  • DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care through the full nursing process in the peri-operative setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Coordinates patient care in collaboration with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, and directs OR technicians and support personnel
  • Reports directly to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services
  • Works cross-departmentally to ensure quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and unit organization
