Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a CA RN license in hand, Epic proficiency, and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details
  • Work setting is a 266-bed acute care hospital located beachside in the Los Angeles area
  • Assignment is in the Emergency Department, covering a combined adult and pediatric population
  • Patient ratio is 1:4
  • Shift is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend is required
  • Floating between facilities within California is required and refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Charting is done in Epic
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license currently in hand; pending licenses are not accepted
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Must be able to perform triage and manage a broad range of emergency conditions including trauma, psychiatric, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory cases
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • A valid LA fire card obtained within the last 30 days is required
  • No open license or background hits will be approved; all license and background issues must be disclosed upfront
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or registry/per diem), including location and dates
  • Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
  • Any RTO requests must be noted at the time of submission
  • Charge nurse experience is preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and trauma (Level I and II) experience are preferred
  • Preferred skills include neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation management
  • RN scrub color is navy blue
  • Parking is available on-site for a fee
