Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Operating Room position requiring prior travel experience and Peds OR background.

Details
  • >Work in the Pediatric Operating Room of a children's hospital
  • Patient population includes ENT, Urology, Neuro, General, Ortho, and Trauma cases
  • Handles both inpatient and outpatient surgical cases
  • Average daily census of 25 patients per day
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Call requirement of a minimum of 3 weekday nights and 2 weekends per 6-week schedule
  • Weekend requirement of 1-2 weekend day shifts per 6-week schedule period
  • Uses Surginet charting system
  • CLN Nurse I role includes functioning as a break nurse approximately 20% of an 8-hour shift
  • Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
Requirements
  • Active California RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BSN required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
  • Minimum 6 months of Pediatric OR experience required
  • Accepts candidates with either inpatient or ambulatory experience background
  • Experience circulating required
  • IV start skills required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Two supervisor-level references required from the applicable unit, dated within 1 year of start date or from most recent employer
Additional Information
  • Perform circulating duties and IV starts in a pediatric surgical setting
  • Function as a break nurse for approximately 20% of an 8-hour shift
  • Exposure to pediatric general surgery, orthopedic, urology, podiatry, neurology, and ENT procedures
  • Utilizes Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedure
  • Up to 16 hours of orientation modules may be required, varying by specialty
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before reapplying
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
