Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position on a Nephrology and Cardiology unit, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details
  • Acute care setting on a 25-bed Nephrology and Cardiology unit (3 West)
  • Patient population includes End Stage Renal Disease, post renal or heart transplant, chest pain pre/post cardiac cath, pacemaker and AICD placement, and autoimmune or connective tissue disorders
  • Patient ratio is 1:5
  • Day shift, 7:00amโ€“7:00pm, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, discharge planning, point-of-care testing, and performance improvement activities
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care using the nursing process
  • Addresses cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • A background check and drug screen are required prior to start; plan for at least 2 weeks for results to be returned
