Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring prior neuro RN experience and a WA or compact RN license in hand.

Details
  • Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital
  • Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-7:00)
  • Floating between units required
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Prior neuro RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale and post-surgical neuro patient care
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
  • Experience caring for craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
  • Cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Must disclose any prior employment history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem work
Additional Information
  • Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, part of a teaching hospital with 629 staffed beds
  • Scrubs may be any color for RNs
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Minimal RTO requests are preferred and should be submitted upfront
