Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of travel RN experience and a compact RN license in hand.

Details
  • Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a Short Term Acute Care hospital
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:00
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating between units and sister facilities based on skill set required
  • Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
  • Skilled in respiratory care including tracheostomy management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and continuous bladder irrigation
  • Must have a vehicle for this assignment
Additional Information
  • Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Perform early mobilization and CHG bathing protocols
  • Manage surgical drains and support plastics patient population
  • May be required to float to sister facilities to meet staffing needs
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • First-time travelers will be screened for consideration
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
  • All scrub colors accepted for this unit
  • No parking fees at this facility
