Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Austin, TX, requiring ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI certifications on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Large Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds
- Patient ratios of 1:4 in the ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma cases
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM with rotating weekends
- No on-call requirements
- Equipment includes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
- EMR is MEDITECH; experience preferred
- Unit staffing includes a charge RN, mid-shift RNs, PCTs, a paramedic, and an LVN on both day and night shifts
Requirements
- Active TX or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
- All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date; AHA or ARC accepted
- Minimum 1 year of recent ED RN experience required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Typical procedures include splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central line management, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, morgan lens use, rapid infusion, and resuscitation
- Preferred experience includes MEDITECH, trauma, holding inpatient, and CPI
- RNs are required to wear navy blue scrubs
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Trauma experience and experience holding inpatient patients are preferred qualifications
- The unit has an active Unit-Based Council (UBC) and Social Committee
