Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in Austin, TX, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and key certifications including EFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and STABLE.

Details
  • Labor & Delivery unit located on the 4th floor of a hospital in Austin, TX
  • 32-bed unit with a staff of approximately 150
  • Patient ratio of 1:2, with charge and co-charge nurse coverage on both day and night shifts
  • Common procedures include SVDs, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLACs
  • Equipment used includes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound
  • EMR system is Meditech
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Rotating weekends required
  • No on-call requirements
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active TX or Compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), STABLE, and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring (or NCCEFM)
  • Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) competency required
  • SVE competency and C-section circulation experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
  • Internal monitor placement competency is preferred
  • Previous HCA assignment or employment is preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume Level IV unit is preferred
  • Scrub color is navy blue; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only — t-shirts are not acceptable
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
