Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a Dedicated Education Unit at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of experience in a large or high-volume hospital setting.

Details
  • 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
  • 30-bed Dedicated Education Unit (9CD) — travelers will be providing direct patient care, not teaching or educating
  • Mixed Med/Surg patient population with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5–6:1
  • High-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center environment with complex and diverse cases
  • 4 weekend shifts required per month
  • Block scheduling is generally not approved
  • No on-call requirements
Requirements
  • Active RN license — GA state or Compact license required
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or mid-to-large, high-volume hospital required
  • Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced situations with complex and high-acuity cases
  • Experience in high-volume settings with diverse and severe patient presentations
Additional Information
  • Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered for this role
  • No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during this assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
  • A positive, professional attitude is strongly emphasized for this role
