Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring travel experience and a LA or compact RN license.

Details
  • Inpatient oncology unit within a hospital setting
  • 18-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
  • Care for patients with various cancer types including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and other oncologic diagnoses
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and manage oncologic emergencies
  • Perform IV therapy, port access/management, and PICC line care
  • Provide post-surgical care, wound care, and pain management including PCA pump management
  • Candidate must be willing to float within the hospital as needed
Requirements
  • Active LA state or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Recent travel nursing experience required
  • Oncology nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration, port access, and central line/PICC care
  • Experience managing oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
  • One professional reference required
  • Candidate's SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Deliver comprehensive oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and psychosocial support
  • Collaborate with care teams on advanced directives, hospice care, and patient/family education
  • Orientation includes a virtual day followed by two on-site days with additional EMR training
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Holiday RTO requests should be kept to a minimum
  • Any license disciplinary actions or license hits must be disclosed at the time of consideration
  • Candidates with recent professional cancellations will be reviewed prior to approval
