Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in Baton Rouge, LA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and on-call availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Details
  • Hospital-based Cath Lab unit
  • Standard shift hours are 0800–1630, with flexibility required for earlier or later procedures as patient care needs dictate
  • 5x8-hour day shifts
  • On-call responsibilities are divided equally among team members, typically two nights per week and every other weekend, covering after-hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Weekend on-call runs from close of business Friday through department opening Monday morning, with an expectation to arrive on-site within 30 minutes of notification
  • May be asked to assist in the IR (Interventional Radiology) department when not needed in the Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Candidate must live 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Requirements
  • Active Louisiana RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or relevant RN experience required
  • Competency in performing conscious sedation and monitoring and recording procedures required
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include monitoring and recording all procedures, with competency in conscious sedation required
  • Cath Lab and IR departments collaborate closely; cross-department assistance may be expected
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
  • In the event of an emergency or disaster, the unit manager may assign staff to an Emergency Team with an expectation to remain at the facility or serve on a relief team until the event has passed
