Duties include outpatient treatment, teaching other medical assistants, completing administrative tasks, or working unusual hours to help fill in current gaps among coverage. You may work around a city, state, or even the country as a whole, based on personal preferences and registration. Many travel medical assistants work with agencies to find steady work. Each job may last anywhere from a few days to several months as employers look for more full-time help. Some travel medical assistants also take seasonal positions.
