Job Description As the Travel Coordinator, you will plan itineraries and schedule travel accommodations for employees using knowledge of routes, types of carriers and travel regulations. Verify travel orders to ensure costs, availability, and convenience of different types of carriers to select most advantageous route and carrier; notify personnel of travel dates, baggage, medical and visa requirements, and determine that all clearances have been obtained. Assist personnel in completing travel forms and other business transactions pertaining to travel, may deliver personnel files and travel orders prior to departure, meet and inform arriving personnel of available facilities and housing, and may arrange for motor transportation for arriving or departing personnel All major modes of transportation are used, as most individual trips involve combinations of more than one mode. Travel is varied and periodically requires planning for relatively inaccessible intermediate or destination points. Routings are diverse and there is a necessity for frequent rerouting, replanning, or rearranging with many side trips requiring changes in modes of travel and creating difficulty in routing and scheduling connections. A substantial amount of travel involves special allowances or requires authorization and planning for supplementary or special transportation facilities. It is frequently difficult to obtain the required information. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (not limited to duties as described - performs related duties as requested) * Assisting new employees with OCONUS travel
* Understanding our client's travel requirements and making appropriate travel recommendations
* Booking domestic and international travel arrangements as needed
* Perform travel expense reconciliations
* Providing excellent customer service and follow-up
* Limited office administrative duties such as ordering of materials and supplies, facilitating office related needs KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: * Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: * Role requires extensive employee interaction and the delivery of exceptional customer service
* 3-5 years of experience as a Travel Agent preferred.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of airline reservation and travel management systems.
* Proven experience coordinating and booking international travel itineraries.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and perform effectively in fast-paced, high-volume operational environments.
