Job description

Position duration: 13+ weeks

40 hours a week

Start Date: ASAP (2-3 weeks after offer acceptance)


Responsibilities
  • Process and analyze clinical laboratory specimens using various diagnostic laboratory equipment such as analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges.
  • Prepare patients and collect blood specimens utilizing venipuncture or capillary methods.
  • Prepare patients for collection of other specimen types such as urine and stool.
  • Review, verify and report patient results.
  • Must be proficient in major areas of the clinical laboratory, such as clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, serology, urinalysis, and molecular testing.
  • Perform, update and/or review Quality Control, Calibrations, and Maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Two-year associate’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Medical Technician by a recognized certifying body (e.g. ASCP, AMT)
  • 2-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Phlebotomy required.
  • Knowledge in microbiology preferred.
