Position Overview

The Recovery Mind Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. Work Environment

This role is primarily remote, designed to foster flexibility while maintaining high standards of patient care. Therapists will be expected to work from home but will have regular check-ins and collaborative meetings via virtual communication tools. Our outpatient framework encourages therapists to develop strong relationships with clients, providing continuity of care without the constraints of a traditional office setting. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some adaptability required based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' trauma history, current mental health status, and specific therapeutic needs.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, resilience-building, and holistic well-being.
• Utilize evidence-based therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during individual and group therapy sessions.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on processing trauma, developing effective coping strategies, and fostering healing.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated care for clients.
• Provide immediate support and crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies to safeguard clients' well-being.
• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, coping techniques, and available community resources to empower their recovery.
• Maintain accurate and private documentation as per state regulations and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
• Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and continued professional development focused on trauma-informed practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and innovations in trauma therapy to continually enhance service quality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The therapist will primarily work with individuals who have experienced varying levels and types of trauma, including but not limited to domestic violence, childhood abuse, and loss. This diverse patient population requires sensitivity, a non-judgmental demeanor, and a deep understanding of trauma's impacts on mental health. The therapist's role is crucial in fostering hope and healing through tailored therapeutic interventions and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid licensure in Texas as an LCSW, LPC, Psychologist, or LMFT.
• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working with trauma-affected populations.
• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed care practices, and resilience-building techniques.
• Proven experience in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating compassion and a supportive attitude towards clients.
• Ability to remain composed and professional in high-stress scenarios.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and common computer applications.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

While two years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with additional experience in community mental health settings, particularly with trauma-informed care protocols, are highly favored. Proficiency in group therapy facilitation and a background in specialized trauma therapies will also be considered beneficial for candidates.

Compensation and Benefits

The Recovery Mind Counseling Center offers a competitive salary of $90,000 to $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
