Position Overview

Willow Garden Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. In this full-time, remote position, you will provide specialized mental health treatment to individuals impacted by trauma, including but not limited to, those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will be invaluable in fostering healing and resilience, significantly impacting the lives of our patients.

Work Environment

In this remote role, you will engage with colleagues and clients through virtual platforms, fostering a collaborative work culture even from a distance. Regular team meetings and consultations ensure you have the support you need, while offering you flexibility in your daily schedule. Though primarily a remote position, you may occasionally conduct in-person sessions as needed in our outpatient facility in Springfield.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' backgrounds and histories, guiding the development of individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), aimed at addressing traumatic experiences.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a therapeutic atmosphere that empowers patients to confront and process their trauma, cultivating their coping strategies and resilience.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care, addressing all facets of mental health and wellness.
  • Provide crisis intervention services during moments of acute stress for patients, ensuring timely support and stabilization.
  • Educate patients and their family members on trauma responses and coping mechanisms, equipping them with the tools necessary for recovery.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of all interactions and treatment plans, aligning with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance clinical practices, utilizing a trauma-informed lens in all discussions.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to continually enhance your clinical skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse population of individuals impacted by various forms of trauma. This includes adults dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociation, as well as adolescents requiring support for trauma-related challenges. The therapist's role is vital in creating a path to recovery for these vulnerable clients by utilizing tailored therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Must possess valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
  • A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, displaying a warm, compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients.
  • Technical proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
Preferred Experience
  • At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
