Job Title: Trauma Informed Communities Program Coord.
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana 46204
Job Description:
Duties
  • Connect recommendations and prevention strategies from state and local child fatality review teams relating to schools.
  • Develop evidence-based prevention initiatives based on state and local data.
  • Create prevention materials to support education and awareness.
  • Provide technical assistance to local communities, including schools and law enforcement agencies, implementing the Handle with Care program.
  • Identify and coordinate trauma-informed trainings for all relevant sectors and community partners.
  • Assist with data collection strategies through local partners for effective evaluation of program outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain high-level collaborative relationships with potential state and local partners.
  • Present on trauma informed strategies and initiatives at local and state conferences.
  • Develop and maintain program policies and procedures.
  • Generate reports, including annual reports and strategic plans.
  • Attend trainings and conferences to stay up to date on current literature and recommendations on trauma informed initiatives and research.
  • Encourage cross collaboration to achieve state, IDOH, and FRP goals and objectives.
  • Champion an equity-driven approach to program improvement.
  • Respond to program requests from IDOH upper management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
A bachelor's degree in a public health-related or similar field, such as health promotion, health communication, health education, social work, or public health is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet program deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate extremely well verbally and in writing, especially to prepare written and oral reports and presentations that communicate necessary information to internal and external partners.
