High Focus Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote position offers the opportunity to provide specialized mental health services to individuals affected by trauma, with a specific focus on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and identify personalized treatment strategies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery and resilience-building, adapting approaches based on patient progress.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, aimed at helping patients process trauma, develop coping mechanisms, and promote holistic healing.
  • Engage in collaborative treatment planning and case management with psychiatrists and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide immediate support during trauma-related emergencies and crisis situations, demonstrating your capacity to remain calm under pressure.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available community resources to foster understanding and involvement in the healing process.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system effectively.
  • Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance your skills in trauma-informed care.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to ensure our practice integrates the most effective treatment modalities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position will focus on serving diverse populations, particularly individuals who have experienced significant trauma in various forms. Your role will involve working with patients exhibiting PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. By employing a trauma-informed lens, you will help empower clients to overcome their challenges, rebuild their lives, and cultivate resilience.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in Florida is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and resilience-building approaches is essential.
