Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required (neurocritical care)
  • Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-appropriate)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record
  • Per facility policy, candidates residing in the following Texas counties are ineligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized neurocritical care for patients with traumatic brain injuries, post-craniotomy, stroke, and spinal cord injuries
  • Manage advanced ICU equipment and neuro protocols: ventilators, central lines, external ventricular drains (EVDs), ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, lumbar drains
  • Administer blood products, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid changes in neuro status
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical/occupational therapy, and neurosurgery
  • Float as needed to ICU/IMC/Telemetry units to support overall critical care staffing
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance
