JOB SUMMARY:
The Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children's Health in San Diego is one of the largest hospital-based Children's Advocacy Centers and trauma treatment centers in the nation. We provide family-focused and trauma-informed services to children and adolescents who may have experienced or witnessed maltreatment, abuse or violence.
The Trauma Counseling (TC) Program specializes in helping children and their families heal from traumatic events, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, community violence, domestic violence, sexual assault or witnessing a crime. TC offers assistance to children and families through individual, group and family therapy, as well as advocacy, case management, safety planning and information or other referrals through a variety of funding sources. The staff is composed of Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), Psychologists and Victim Advocates. All of the staff specialize in trauma, abuse and working with children and their families.
Under supervision by the Trauma Counseling Program Manager, the Patient Access Representative III is responsible for front desk and client check-in duties for the center, including'securing and providing appropriate medical business information to/from patient families and funding sources. The PAR completes client registration and scheduling, obtainsauthorizations for patient services, and responds to internal and external customer inquiries including multi-line phone system.
Under general supervision, the Patient Access Representative III is responsible for securing and providing appropriate medical business information to/from patient families and funding sources. Interprets, identifies, communicates, and documents this information by way of: registration, scheduling and/or obtaining authorizations for patient services, in a team environment. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for being a subject matter expert in their area for internal and external customer inquiries, as well as supporting various communication needs as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
H.S. Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
Associate's Degree plus 1 year of experience or High School Diploma plus 2 years of experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree
2 Years of Experience
Experience with Epic or Other EMR systems
Experience with payment collection efforts
Bilingual English/Spanish and/or other languages that meet business needs of the department
The current salary range for this position is $23.10 to $31.77
