Job description

Nissin International Transport USA, Inc. is seeking an experienced Domestic Transportation Sales Manager to help drive the continued growth of our domestic transportation and 3PL business. This highly visible sales role is ideal for a proven transportation sales professional who knows how to identify new business opportunities, build lasting customer relationships, and turn complex logistics needs into customized transportation solutions.

The successful candidate must have at least 10 years of proven domestic transportation sales experience, including direct sales experience with trucking companies, along with a strong understanding of the U.S. freight market and a demonstrated ability to generate new business across FTL, LTL, intermodal, and dedicated transportation services. Working closely with operations, pricing, and customer service teams, this individual will manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and solution development through negotiation, closing, and successful customer onboarding.

Position Summary: Under the Sr. Director, New Business Development (NBD) for the National Sales Division (NSD), the Domestic Transportation Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and managing strategic sales efforts focused on domestic freight and transportation services. This individual will lead business development initiatives, identify and cultivate new customer relationships, and expand existing accounts by promoting the company's 3PL solutions—including truckload, LTL, intermodal, and dedicated services. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of the domestic transportation industry, a proven track record of sales success, and the ability to align customer needs with customized logistics solutions. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment and collaborate effectively with operations, pricing, and customer service teams. This individual will build strong customer relationships and deliver customized logistics solutions to meet client needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across domestic transportation services.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities within manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, and other verticals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective and existing client accounts.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting and quoting to closing and onboarding.
  • Conduct customer needs assessments and propose tailored transportation solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and successful onboarding of new clients.
  •  Negotiate pricing and service agreements in alignment with company policies.
  •  Provide regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and account updates to leadership.
  •  Track and report on sales metrics and forecast accuracy using CRM tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • 10 years of sales experience in domestic transportation, preferably within a 3PL environment.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. freight markets including FTL, LTL, and intermodal.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to prioritize and organize ongoing projects 
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
