Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $57,200.00 - $95,300.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 5 % or $ , based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details

The Routing Analyst supports the planning, optimization, and execution of replenishment routes for Grainger's KeepStock inventory management program by partnering with field stakeholders and implementing system generated route plans. This role focuses on building efficient delivery routes, analyzing routing performance, and supporting field operations to ensure service-level commitments are met while controlling transportation and labor costs. This position is Hybrid requiring 2 days per week in the Chicago or Lake Forest, IL Grainger offices however remote candidates may be considered. 

You Will

  • Execute system route plans and document field exceptions.
  • Support exception management (missed stops, over-capacity routes, emergency replenishments) by capturing the business reason for route exceptions and tracking the impact of these exceptions (example: additional mileage reimbursement, incremental paid drive time).
  • Partner with field operations, inventory, to resolve routing issues.
  • Proactively communicate with field leadership to draw awareness of opportunity areas and decrease variation to help enhance customer service.
  • Maintain routing data accuracy (locations, service windows, frequencies, travel times) to ensure system generated route plans leverage the most updated information when creating route plans.
  • Document standard work and routing best practices.
  • Train new field team members and provide ongoing support for routing tools, resolving functionality issues as they arise.

 You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in an operations support role (forecasting, data analysis and field support).
  • Experience in analytical and technology skills with understanding of routing logic.
  • Experience with communication and influencing leadership within an organization.
  • Experience identifying, escalating, and resolving issues following established escalation protocols and coordinating with leadership to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, SharePoint) and other analytical tools (e.g., Snowflake, SQL, Python).
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement (CI) methods and tools to improve and enhance operations.
