Job description

Job Description Summary:
We are searching for a driven individual with both shipping and leadership experience. This role will assist the Egg Transportation Director with the shipping process and office functions.
Job Description:
  • Scheduling of farm routes for egg pickups as well as deliveries to hatcheries
  • Managing DOT regulatory compliance
  • Managing maintenance programs on all operating equipment
  • Managing company biosecurity programs
  • Managing a strong safety culture
  • Purchasing truck maintenance supplies
  • All duties concerning egg hauling (scheduling, farm issues/concerns, driver hours spreadsheets, etc)
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the manager
  • Communicate with egg depot on delivery needs
  • Manage fuel station
  • Coach drivers to reduce bad behaviors, e.g., unbuckling, distracted driving, speeding, hard stops, and incomplete stops.
  • Manage freight exceptions and driver ETA adjustments based on pick-up and delivery schedules
  • Profit and loss statement management
  • Occasional travel to other areas of operation. (10%)

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 3-5 years of relevant transportation experience
  • Must be computer literate
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, co-workers and employees, and officials in other departments
  • Knowledge of departmental regulations and procedures
  • Ability to work well independently and to carry out assignments to completion with minimum instructions, adhere to prescribed routines and practices, maintain records, and generate reports with extreme accuracy
  • Ability to supervise drivers in a fair and professional manner
