Job description

Position Title: Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Division: Redhawk Administrative Services
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance (Required)
**Position is contingent upon award of contract
Position Summary
Redhawk Administrative Services is seeking an Accounting SME to apply deep knowledge of accounting processes and systems in support of our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) customer. They play a critical role in providing professional financial services to the US Coast Guard (USCG), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD). Requirements include accounting services, audit/internal controls, and property management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide SME on financial processes and systems, including the Financial System Management System (FSMS).
• Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
• Support the training of financial staff on FSMS and other relevant systems.
• Assist in the resolution of complex financial issues and inquiries.
• Conduct research and analysis on emerging financial trends and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes.
• Prepare documentation and reports related to financial processes.
• Apply SME to support financial accounting and payment processing.
• Apply SME to support financial and accounting processes mandated by the customer and other federal agencies.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Business/Data Analytics)
• CGFM/CPA/CDFM/CPFO certification(s) (Preferred)
Experience:
• 3-5 years' experience in a financial role
• Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with the USCG Financial System Modernization Solution (FSMS) (Preferred)
