Transplant Program Assistant Jobs in Illinois (NOW HIRING)

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a full-time psychologist at the rank of Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor on the non-tenure Clinician-Educator track. The candidate will join a rich, collaborative environment with other clinicians and scientists in the Feinberg School of Medicine and throughout the University.

This role will provide comprehensive psychological assessment and support to organ transplant candidates, recipients, and living donors. The psychologist will evaluate psychosocial readiness for transplantation, identify risk factors affecting outcomes, and deliver evidence-based interventions to support coping, adherence, and emotional well-being throughout the transplant continuum. They will collaborate with a multidisciplinary transplant team to inform clinical decision-making, promote ethical care, and improve patient outcomes. This candidate will contribute to the institution's academic mission through teaching and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct pre- and post-transplant psychosocial evaluations
* Provide individual counseling and behavioral health interventions
* Assess capacity, adherence risk, and psychosocial contraindications
* Support patients, families, and donors through the transplant process
* Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and allied health staff
* Document findings and contribute to transplant selection meetings
* Engage in scholarly activity consistent with faculty expectations
* Teach and supervise medical students, residents, fellows, and psychology trainees as applicable

Qualified candidates will have obtained a PhD or PsyD from a clinical psychology program that is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System and completed an APA-approved internship. Applicants will also have well developed competencies that facilitate their work with a variety of communities and patients with multi-dimensional identities. Qualified candidates will also be licensed or license eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois. Candidates must be able/willing to provide care in-person and via telehealth.

The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $113,303 - $135,433.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
