Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician specializing in transmission systems to join our dynamic team at Chevrolet of Puente Hills. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of transmission systems for vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. If you have a strong background in automotive repair, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic tests and inspections on transmission systems to identify malfunctions and issues.
- Conduct thorough repairs and maintenance on automatic and manual transmission systems, including but not limited to clutch work, fluid changes, and component replacement.
- Collaborate with other technicians and staff to discuss repair processes, share knowledge, and improve overall service efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs and maintenance work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and service recommendations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating with clients about their vehicle's needs, explaining repair procedures, and recommending appropriate services.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in transmission repair and service.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an automotive technician program preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years Ford experience in automotive repair, with a focus on transmission systems.
- Strong understanding of transmission components, repair techniques, and diagnostic tools.
- ASE certification in Transmission Repair (A2) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various physical positions.
