Job Description
In this role, you will support transloading operations and assist with the safe movement and placement of railcars.
This is an entry-level opportunity with training provided for individuals who are reliable, safety-minded, and willing to learn.
If you enjoy physical work, working outdoors, and being part of a safety-focused team, this role may be a great fit.
Schedule
• 4 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 night shifts on and 4 night shifts off
• 12-hour shifts (5:00 AM - 5:00 PM / 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM)
• Overtime may be required
Compensation
$19.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience)
Duties
• Verify railcar numbers and placement according to instructions
• Assist with loading and unloading railcars using established procedures
• Connect and disconnect hoses, valves, and transfer equipment
• Operate switches, derails, and trackside equipment
• Control movement of equipment using radio, hand signals, and visual indicators
• Couple and uncouple railcars; handle air hoses and wheel chocks
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment
• Inspect equipment and work areas for safety and cleanliness
• Monitor operations and report any issues or hazards
• Assist with basic locomotive and rail operations as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment
• Ability to climb on and off railcars, ladders, and platforms
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable with reliable transportation
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Military experience is a plus
