Railserve is hiring dependable, safety-focused Transloaders in Ironton, OH to support daily operations at an industrial facility. This is a full-time, outdoor, hands-on role focused on safely transferring liquid products from railcars into storage systems.

Job Description

The Transloader is responsible for safely unloading liquid products from railcars into storage systems using pumps, hoses, valves, and related transfer equipment. This role supports daily transloading operations while maintaining compliance with company safety procedures, environmental requirements, and customer operating standards.

Employees work with tank cars, transfer equipment, and storage systems in an outdoor industrial environment. Daily responsibilities include verifying tank car numbers, connecting hoses and grounding cables, operating pumps and valves, monitoring gauges and meters, collecting samples, and maintaining clean and safe work areas.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable performing hands-on work outdoors. Previous transloading, industrial, chemical, petroleum, or rail experience is helpful but not required for candidates with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Schedule

Monday through Friday
8-hour shifts
Occasional overtime may be required based on operational needs

Compensation

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience

Duties

Verify tank car numbers against loading and unloading instructions
Connect grounding cables to safely discharge static electricity
Open and close manway covers and inspect tank cars for cleanliness and damage
Connect hoses and valves to unload liquid chemical and petroleum products
Operate pumps and valves to transfer materials into storage tanks
Monitor gauges and meters to ensure proper flow and volume
Install vapor release valves and ensure proper sealing of tank cars
Test samples and record readings as required
Inspect valves, gaskets, and safety components; replace as needed
Clean tank car exteriors and maintain equipment
Assist with basic locomotive and rail operations as needed
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
Ability to participate in Railserve's pre-employment screening process
Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments
Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment and materials
Ability to climb on and off railcars and work at heights
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable transportation required
Strong attendance and dependability required
Ability to follow instructions, operating procedures, and safety requirements
Military experience is a plus
