General Purpose
The Associate Pricing and Cost of Service Analyst is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems with data and wants to grow their career in utility pricing and regulation.
In this role, you'll support pricing and cost of service analyses by researching, gathering, and interpreting data to help develop rate and pricing proposals. You'll contribute to feasibility studies, cost-benefit and revenue analyses, and trend evaluations building a strong foundation in rate design while working alongside experienced analysts on projects that shape PacifiCorp's retail pricing strategy.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with analyses related to cost of service, design of retail electric prices, rate spread, special contract analysis, revenue normalization, rate analysis, and reporting.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data for trends, forecasts, and modeling.
  • Prepare and respond to requests for rates and rate comparisons.
  • Assist with preparation of testimony, exhibits and tariff changes filed with state regulatory commissions and provide analytical support.
  • Assist with the design and development of new pricing proposals, costing methods and data collection procedures.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, business, accounting, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling.
  • Knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate projects and be accountable for project outcomes.
  • Travel may be required.
