Educational Opportunities for Children and Families (EOCF) is committed to supporting children and families through developmentally appropriate early learning programs. We believe in empowering staff and equipping classrooms to ensure every child thrives.
Come join our team as a Substitute Bus Driver and support the transportation needs of the families and preschool aged children we serve. This is an On-Call position with an hourly pay rate of $25.94
Education: High school diploma/equivalent.
Experience: One year experience in public or student transportation is preferred.
*** Bi-lingual skills highly desired
Certification and Other Requirements
Commercial Drivers License (CDL) class "C" or better with passenger and school bus endorsements (must be obtained within 90 days of employment). This includes meeting all Washington State Department of Transportation physical requirements as stipulated in Section 391.41 of the Commercial Drivers Manual.
Valid First Aid and CPR cards-EOCF will provide training if needed
Valid driver's license
Current Auto Insurance
Acceptable driving abstract
Pass pre-employment drug screening, and subsequent random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol screenings as required by federal law.
Knowledge of:
Federal and State laws, regulations, codes, policies and procedures regarding school bus safety operation.
Principles of young child, individual and group, management in a school bus environment.
Basic rules and principles of grammar, written and verbal communication, and mathematics.
Ability to:
Operate a type A school bus.
Construct, revise and maintain bus routes.
Manage children, ages three to five, in a school bus, utilizing the assistance of parents and bus monitor as appropriate.
Work independently and make sound decisions (according to agency policies, state & federal laws and regulations), meet deadlines and work effectively under stressful or emergent conditions.
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness as work demands shift; may be asked to work any day of the work week.
Demonstrate effective leadership at all times while on bus route.
Interviews to begin as soon a qualified pool of applicants is received
