Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an EMS Program Manager in Boston, MA.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will have direct experience leading complex EMS implementations, migrations, or modernization programs, preferably involving AspenTech EMS, within an electric utility, transmission operator, ISO/RTO, or comparable critical infrastructure environment.
This individual will serve as a senior client-facing delivery leader and will be accountable for orchestrating the SI delivery across multiple technical and functional workstreams while coordinating closely with the client, EMS product vendor, infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, and other implementation partners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end SI program delivery for a large-scale EMS implementation/migration, from mobilization and planning through design, build/configuration, integration, testing, cutover, go-live, stabilization, and transition to operations
* Serve as the senior client-facing SI program leader, building trusted relationships with client executives, program leadership, operations stakeholders, technical teams, EMS vendor leadership, and other delivery partners
* Establish and manage the integrated program plan and delivery roadmap, including milestones, critical path, dependencies, resources, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and key decision points
* Lead and coordinate delivery across EMS workstreams, including, as applicable, SCADA, network model, advanced EMS applications, displays, data migration/conversion, system interfaces, ICCP/external integrations, infrastructure, environments, cybersecurity, testing, training, and operational readiness
* Drive coordination between the client, EMS product vendor, SI teams, infrastructure providers, cybersecurity teams, and other third parties, ensuring clear ownership, dependencies, handoffs, and accountability across the program
REQUIREMENTS:
* 15+ years of program/project management experience with 5+ years in EMS/SCADA or utility control systems programs, with significant experience delivering complex technology transformation programs within electric utilities, energy, or other critical infrastructure environments
* Demonstrated experience leading at least one large-scale EMS implementation, migration, upgrade, or modernization program
* Strong understanding of Energy Management Systems, SCADA, transmission operations, and electric utility control-room environments
* Experience managing complex, multi-year programs involving multiple technical workstreams, vendors, implementation partners, and client organizations
* Demonstrated experience managing programs through design, build/configuration, integration, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization
* Strong experience establishing and operating program governance, integrated scheduling, RAID management, financial management, resource planning, change control, and executive reporting
* Experience managing vendor and SI contractual deliverables, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and change requests
* Strong client-facing leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience communicating with executive, operational, and technical stakeholders
* Proven ability to lead geographically distributed, cross-functional teams in complex delivery environments
* Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, escalation management, and executive presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Direct AspenTech EMS implementation or migration experience strongly preferred
* Experience with AspenTech OSI monarch EMS or comparable industry-leading EMS platforms
* Experience migrating from a legacy EMS platform to a modern EMS solution, including management of database/model conversion, displays, interfaces, integrations, and operational transition
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
