Battery Assembly Technician
Princeton, IN
Duration: 12 months Contract with Possible extension
Working hours: Either 7 AM to 4 PM OR 8 AM to 5 PM local time.
Travel: At most 50% during peak times; Candidates should be available to travel immediately, the travel will be domestically in US, to Canada, Mexico and possibly to Japan. Candidates will be travelling at least for a week to 2 weeks OR at most month.
Overtime: 25%; Candidates should be willing to work little extra during weekdays and should be comfortable to work over weekends as per the project needs.
This position is with the Battery Team and they’re looking for an Technician to support Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Battery Pack Assembly group’s equipment.
Ideal candidate should have 3+ technical experience of being/worked as a Technician with the required skills.
Top 3 skills –
PLC programming for Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron or Siemens
Self-motivated individual
Flexible to work with different teams, travel and overtime
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: Candidates should have their own Steel Toe Shoes and Safety Glasses once they start working on this position, rest will be provided by Toyota.
What you’ll be doing:
Support Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Battery Pack Assembly group’s equipment development with Global teams
Support equipment specification development to confirm standards compliance
Support equipment machine risk assessment development and confirmation activities
Complete equipment checks for Safety, Electrical & Mechanical design confirmations
Confirm equipment, conveyor & logistics hardware for individual cell & zone safety interlocks
Support equipment confirmations at vendor buy-off trials & larger zone trials
Support equipment adjustment to ensure Safety, Quality & Productivity target achievement
Engage in travel to vendors in the U.S., Canada, Mexico & Japan.
What you will bring:
2 Year associate’s degree in technical field, completion of a trade school, or 3+ Years relevant technical experience
2 Years Experience with PLC programming for Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron or Siemens
Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Ability & willingness to work up to 25% overtime, possibly including 12-hours shifts with likelihood of significant weekend & holiday work
Ability & willingness to travel up to 50% at peak times, both domestically & internationally.
What you may bring:
Experience with manufacturing equipment procurement, installation and confirmation
Experience with Kawasaki or Fanuc Industrial Robots for Part Transfer or Auto-Tightening
Experience with Keyence or other Vision System setup and/or integration
Experience with AMRs &/or AGVs and AGV Traffic Control systems.
