To thrive as a Transfer Center Coordinator, you need a solid understanding of hospital operations, patient transfer protocols, and typically a background in healthcare or nursing. Familiarity with hospital information systems, bed management software, and electronic health records (EHR) is common, along with certifications like BLS or ACLS in some settings.
