Summary:
The radiology transcription editor completes quality checks editing transcribed medical documents and transcribes reports by physicians and other healthcare providers in order to document patient care following transcription production standards. This person will serve as a resource to coworkers and dictators within the transcription team researching questions, educating, and continually improving quality and productivity. The ability to multi-task and work under pressure with time constraints while working independently with minimal or no supervision is a must. Organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications and laboratory values required. Candidate must be proficient in understanding diverse accents, dialects and varying dictation styles, commonly confused terms and knowledge of homonyms. Candidate should have strong grammar skills. Candidate must be able to recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical text and/or dictation appropriately to clarify, flag or report them as needed.
Requirements:
GED/High School Diploma Required. Minimum experience 3-5 years. Computer, windows operating system, and Microsoft office knowledge required.
