Role Overview

Initio Sphere is seeking qualified finance professionals to join as Certified Transaction Risk Examiners.

This is not a traditional employment role. Transaction Risk Examiners operate as independent contractors and are activated through Initio Sphere’s certification and verification process.

Once approved, examiners:

  • Are promoted within the Initio Sphere platform

  • Gain access to real, paid transaction risk examination work

  • Support investors, fund managers, and operators by examining risk exposure across live transactions

  • Build a verified transaction risk assessment track record and Analyst Rating Score

Certification tiers:
Senior Transaction Risk Examiner · Lead Transaction Risk Examiner · Transaction Risk Examiner / Associate


Analyst Levels & Pay RangesSenior Transaction Risk Examiner
  • Rating Score: 90–100

  • Pay: $150–200/hour

  • Typical Background:
    Former investment banking, private equity, private credit, risk management, transaction advisory, or senior consulting professionals with 5+ years of transaction risk experience

Lead Transaction Risk Examiner
  • Rating Score: 80–89

  • Pay: $100–150/hour

  • Typical Background:
    Finance professionals with 3–5 years of deal analysis, underwriting, diligence, or risk assessment experience

Transaction Risk Examiner / Associate
  • Rating Score: 60–79

  • Pay: $50–100/hour

  • Typical Background:

What You’ll Do (Approval-Based)

Depending on certification approvals, Transaction Risk Examiners may be engaged to:

Transaction Risk Examination
  • Examine financial models for downside risk, assumption sensitivity, and stress resilience

  • Evaluate valuation risk, leverage levels, and capital structure exposure

  • Assess covenant, liquidity, and refinancing risk

  • Review underwriting assumptions with a risk-first lens

Risk Identification & Scenario Analysis
  • Identify key financial, operational, market, and structural risks

  • Perform sensitivity, downside, and stress-test analyses

  • Assess concentration, execution, and counterparty risk

  • Highlight material red flags and risk mitigation considerations

Diligence & Risk Reporting
  • Review Quality of Earnings (QoE) analyses and diligence findings for risk implications

  • Evaluate commercial and operational diligence through a downside lens

  • Support investment memo development with risk-focused commentary

  • Prepare structured risk summaries for investor or committee review

Note: Examiners may only perform work in categories they are specifically approved for. Approvals are earned through assessment and demonstrated performance—not tenure.


How Examiners Start Earning
  1. Complete the Transaction Risk Examiner Certification Assessment or approved training

  2. Receive category-specific approvals (Risk Examination, Model Risk Review, Valuation Risk, Diligence Risk)

  3. Get verified on the Initio Sphere platform

  4. Begin earning immediately through hourly risk examination assignments and live deal work

No cold applying. No unpaid “experience.”
Verified examiners are actively promoted to investors and deal sponsors.


Certification & Eligibility

To qualify, you must meet at least one of the following:

  • Score ≥70% in at least one category of the Certification Assessment

  • Complete Initio Sphere Financial Training

  • Hold an active professional credential (CFA, CPA, Series 7, 63, 79, or equivalent)


Analyst Rating Score

Each Transaction Risk Examiner receives a 0–100 Analyst Rating Score, which determines:

  • Platform visibility

  • Approved risk examination categories

  • Recommended hourly rates

Scores are based on risk judgment quality, analytical rigor, clarity of findings, and compliance discipline.


Compensation & Deal Terms
  • Examiners are independent contractors, not employees

  • Hourly rates depend on Rating Score and approval level

  • Examiners may earn up to 10% of the first $100,000 in transaction fees

  • Maximum deal-based earning: $2,500 per transaction

  • Payments issued only after successful deal completion and fee collection

  • Initio Sphere reserves the right to revoke approvals for quality or compliance issues

Transaction Risk Examiners do not:

  • Provide investment advice

  • Solicit or sell securities

  • Represent Initio Sphere in a regulated or fiduciary capacity

All work is strictly limited to transaction risk examination, analytical review, diligence evaluation, and financial support functions and must comply with applicable securities laws.
