We are looking for an experienced Payment Processing Manager to oversee loan servicing operations in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role will guide a high-volume payment environment, ensuring funds are applied accurately, service commitments are met, and regulatory standards are upheld. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep knowledge of loan payment processing and payoff activity, and a track record of improving operational controls and team performance.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily loan payment and payoff processing across multiple receipt channels, including lockbox, online transactions, wire activity, and mailed funds.
• Lead the completion of payment corrections, disbursements, payoff requests, account updates, and related servicing actions within defined turnaround standards.
• Oversee workflow scheduling and task coordination to ensure time-sensitive activities are executed consistently and without delay.
• Review operational reporting to identify exceptions, measure team output, and drive prompt resolution of processing errors or imbalances.
• Manage external lockbox vendor performance by tracking service levels, addressing issues, and maintaining accountability to agreed standards.
• Provide guidance on complex payment application matters, including interest accrual calculations, principal balance validation, and fee assessment questions.
• Maintain strong departmental controls through routine audits, reconciliations, and quality checks that support accuracy, timeliness, and audit preparedness.
• Partner with Compliance, Accounting, Finance, and Investor Reporting teams to resolve escalations, strengthen processes, and support broader servicing objectives.
• Supervise staff performance through coaching, goal setting, evaluations, and the development of measurable objectives aligned with business priorities.
• Identify and implement process and technology improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen quality, and increase automation where appropriate.
• At least five years of experience in loan servicing/accounting or closely related payment operations.
• At least five years of management experience with direct responsibility for team leadership and performance.
• College degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated background leading high-volume payment processing and payoff operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex account activity and resolve exceptions effectively.
• Comfort with technology and the ability to learn new systems quickly in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly for reporting, analysis, and day-to-day management tasks.
