Job description

Payment Operations Specialist (ACH & Check Processing)Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payment Operations Specialist to join our banking operations team. This role is responsible for processing and reconciling financial transactions, resolving exceptions, supporting customer and internal requests, and ensuring the accurate and timely handling of ACH, check, and wire-related activities.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple transaction types simultaneously, and demonstrates strong accountability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within financial services and banking operations while working with enterprise platforms such as FIS and Salesforce.


Key Responsibilities
  • Process ACH, check, and other payment transactions accurately and within established service-level agreements.
  • Review, validate, and release ACH batches while ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve transaction exceptions, discrepancies, and processing errors.
  • Perform transaction corrections and account adjustments as needed.
  • Manage service requests and support cases from internal and external customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, business partners, payment providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and provide updates.
  • Monitor daily workflows and prioritize tasks to ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Maintain accuracy and quality standards while processing high transaction volumes.
  • Utilize multiple systems and platforms, including FIS and Salesforce, to support operational activities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Adhere to banking regulations, company policies, and operational controls.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a transaction-processing, operations, banking, financial services, or customer support environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and transaction types simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial transaction processing.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

    • 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.81 - $39.81/hr.
