Job Description
Supports both production and retail operations. Responsible for daily operations of meat processing, maintaining equipment and sanitation standards, and support retail operations through customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Unloads and handles livestock including carcass dressing.
  • Processes meat, including cutting, trimming, slicing, and grinding for wholesale and retail.
  • Prepares, labels, and packages products; moves inventory to appropriate storage.
  • Maintains inventory records and participates in traceability procedures.
  • Operates and sanitizes meat processing equipment; performs regular maintenance.
  • Conducts temperature audits and equipment functionality checks.
  • Ensures compliance with USDA-FSIS sanitation, inspection, and safety regulations.
  • Handles product integrity during mechanical and temperature-related issues.
  • Provides fast and friendly customer service.
  • Operates the cash register, processes sales, and handles cash and credit transactions accurately.
  • Stocks shelves thoroughly and ensure merchandise is appropriately priced and faced.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the retail space, including counters, doors, windows, floors and shelving.
  • Empties trash receptacles and replaces liners as needed.
  • Supports inventory tracking and restocking efforts.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor while interacting with customers.
  • No supervisory/management authority.
  • Work will be performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled office settings and/or outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Work includes lifting and adjusting heavy objects up to 100 lbs. and encountering sharp, hot and/or cold supplies and equipment.
  • Work requires proper personal protective equipment and maintaining safety procedures at all times.
  • Work may require extended hours outside normal work hours or long hours for emergency maintenance and repair situations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and one (1) to three (3) years of experience in the operations and maintenance of meat harvest, fabrication and processing, associate equipment, and the collection of research data, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Basic written, communication, presentation and computer skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to identify produce results.
  • Ability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance and handle or feel.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and see.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
