Job description

Position Overview
PZI Group is seeking a detail-oriented Facility Security Officer (FSO) to administer the company's personnel security program and maintain compliance with government security requirements for a small portfolio of cleared contracts.
This position is responsible for managing security clearances, maintaining compliance within the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), supporting Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) requirements, and ensuring security records remain accurate and audit ready.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and experienced with government security procedures while providing excellent support to employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Personnel Security
  • Process and manage employee security clearances using DISS and related government systems.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities for cleared personnel.
  • Maintain accurate personnel security records and clearance documentation.
  • Track investigation timelines, periodic reinvestigations, and clearance status.
  • Ensure employees complete required security paperwork and training.

Facility Security Administration
  • Maintain the facility's security program in accordance with NISPOM requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DCSA security matters.
  • Prepare for and support DCSA security reviews and inspections.
  • Maintain required facility security documentation and records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal security regulations and contract requirements.

Compliance & Training
  • Conduct annual security education, awareness, and refresher training.
  • Brief and debrief cleared personnel as required.
  • Maintain security training records and documentation.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
  • Report security incidents and assist with investigations when necessary.

Contract Security Support
  • Review contract security requirements and DD Form 254s.
  • Coordinate security requirements for new contracts and subcontractors.
  • Support classified visit requests and visitor control procedures.
  • Maintain communication with government customers regarding personnel security matters.

Administrative Support
  • Maintain organized security files and audit documentation.
  • Track compliance deadlines and required reporting.
  • Prepare reports for leadership regarding clearance status and compliance activities.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years' experience as FSO, AFSO, or Industrial Security Specialist.
  • Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Experience using DISS and related personnel security systems.
  • Familiarity with DD Form 254 requirements and personnel clearance processing.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience supporting DCSA security reviews.
  • Experience supporting small government contractors.
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, or related government cybersecurity requirements.
