Job description

The Granite YMCA is seeking Assistant Group Leaders to join our School Age Childcare team! This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in youth development while supporting a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children in our before and after school programs.

As an Assistant Group Leader, you’ll work closely with the Site Director and team to deliver high-quality programming that meets YMCA standards and New Hampshire state licensing requirements. With flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth, this is more than just a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact in your community.

Positions available at YMCA facilities and local elementary schools.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily program operations in alignment with YMCA standards and NH state licensing requirements
  • Provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for youth
  • Build positive relationships with participants, families, and staff; actively supervise at all times
  • Lead and participate in activities, including setup, snack distribution, and cleanup
  • Assist with attendance tracking, headcounts, and behavior management
  • Model YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies following YMCA procedures
  • Collaborate with the Site Director and team to support program quality and communication
